....to want to chop my nose off

.... my sinuses are driving me mad!

Sorry - but need to vent.

I have allergic rhinitis and regularly get sneezing fits, nosebleeds, vile 'icepick' headaches that go on for three days, and feel exhausted......

I'm just coming to the end of a three day period where I've had a headache, been sneezing non-stop, had a racing heart, been alternately sweating and freezing, and had horrible prickling sinuses and a runny nose.

This happens every month, at least.

Is it unreasonable to expect my doctor to offer me NOTHING for this shitty condition except bloody steroid nasal sprays?

You have my fullest sympathy. I get this as well. The sneezing does my head in, they are so violent and loud DH thinks its funny (until I point out to him I am wetting myself - literally).

Its shite isn't it? Does something in particular set yours off?

Ah yes dust sets mine off. My nose feels like its swollen twice its size and its on fire somtimes. I must look a right treat.

Ohhh.... I have polyps apparently.

I wonder if I can get my dp to refer me to ENT? I've already been referred to a GP specialist who told me that my sinuses were clear (apart from the polyps) and that I just needed to use nasal spray.

Turkey, as someone who's had a forceps birth followed by a shoulder dystocia with a 10lbs 12oz baby I am entirely with you in the damp knickers department....... (oh gosh - just remembered - went to undress ds 2 yesterday - he's three - and found he'd stuck one of my tena-lady into the crotch of his tiny Y fronts.... - he must have been watching me get dressed......)
