Since having a stinking cold a couple of weeks ago DD (4.3) has turned into a cross between Violet Elizabeth Bott ("I'll scream and scream until I'm sick...") and the Duracell bunny! Up at 5.30/45, hugely demanding for the majority of the day and also coming into our bed 2-4 times a night.

We've never cracked down on the night thing cos she'll go through a phase for a week or so, and then stop and she just climbs into our bed and goes to sleep but at the moment it's lots of farting about every couple of hours through the night.

To top it off DH has just broken up for Christmas on Friday (works in private school), so now have him home for 3 1/2 weeks.

I need more sleep, I need my space - I'm not getting either and it's doing my head in aaaggghh!

OK rant over - anyone else feeling the same? Where would you like to be right now (and who with .

I'm joining you Holly.

I have some sort of evil lurgy, two children who won't sleep, the educational psychiatrist's visit tomorrow and the house is chaotic and really untidy.

We are in the middle of calving and moving house and I have just started to eat our second Christmas cake as the first one got demolished.

Wake me up when it is next year please as I'm off to New Orleans with Viggo Mortensen for a filthy three weeks.

Bedarra Island (off the coast of Queensland) with a stack of books, Hugh Jackman and Brendan Cole - at least until Christmas Eve!

Enjoy your break Gentle Otter!

Thanks Holly! Viggo is in Aragon mode and Bourbon Street is waiting....

C'mon Ladies - it's Christmas! There must be some more takers for a fantasy break with a fantasy man.

It can't just be thme and GentleOtter who'd rather be doing something extra-marital somewhere exotic

With him A log cabin, with a fur rug and roaring fire, snowed in - though with more than adequate supplies of M&S food/wine/chocolate.

My parents are arriving today.

When they leave, I am hosting a little Xmas party for DS's friends. The following day, I have other friends round for tea. The following day, more relatives arrive for the weekend; when they depart, my brother's turning up for Christmas itself. Then off to DH's family for New Year.

Little do they all know that I am off to a little white sand beach on a tiny island in the Indian Ocean to drink cocktails, read voraciously and pass an idle hour or two with Sean Bean.

have a lovely Christmas, everyone - think of me!
