dh and I agreed on a set amount we were spending on each other. I have got a coat for xmas.

dh has secretly put 2 more pressies on my pile. The title says it all really.

yabu
you will ruin the surprise!!

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 14/12/2008 16:10

YA a bit - although having said that I'm crap at waiting to see what I've got!!

DH and I also set a budget and as he's away for Christmas we opened our presents early - felt soooooo bad s I stuck to the budget and he blew it totally (like 5x more than we said )

DBXmum · 14/12/2008 16:11

yabu - you are a lucky lady to have a man who has topped up your main present at all! Not to mention that they aren't desperate last minute crappy buys on Christmas Eve; it's not even the middle of December yet. Leave well alone - what goes around comes around.

stillenacht · 14/12/2008 16:12

You have a pile of pressies????

Bloody hell!!!

piscesmoon · 14/12/2008 16:19

YABU - don't spoil the surprise.

cheshirekitty · 14/12/2008 16:19

OK will not touch them. Tis only a small pile.

stillenacht · 14/12/2008 16:20

We were chatting yesterday how we couldn't be arsed to get each other anything but we will do now as think DS1 will get upset if santa hasn't left anything for us..

Baahhh Humbuuuuuuug

crazyloon1 · 14/12/2008 16:23

yabu! Now be a good girl!

muggglewump · 14/12/2008 16:24

I have a couple of presents under the tree from family and I'm tempted too but I do know they will be all I'll get to open so I've resisted. Instead I opened one of DD's and re-wrapped it which I'm sure is a bad Mum thing to do
It's a Bratz DS game which she will love.

crazyloon1 · 14/12/2008 16:47

Oh I am amazed that you have stuff under the tree already

If we did, it would be ransacked by both children so only makes an appearance on Xmas eve!

thenewme · 14/12/2008 16:52

yabu

you shouldn't have even seen the presents pile yet.

expo · 14/12/2008 17:00

Oh don't open them. I love looking at DH's face when I buy him surprises and would hate it if he had opened them first. Your DH wis probably really excited seeing you open them for the first time! What a nice DH!

OrmIrian · 14/12/2008 17:05

Oh I hate that. DH always wants to go OTT with presents and we can't really afford it. I buy him something, he always outdoes it and I end up feeling like such a meany . He refused to sign up to rules.

But no, don't open them. Not fair on him.

pinkyp · 14/12/2008 17:11

My partners the same, my rule is we set a budget and then i get him 2 small gifts extra just incase but because there small it doesnt matter if he has stuck to the budget.

TheMuppetsChristmasMuggle · 14/12/2008 17:14

I don't know what pressies i have this year, and DP doesn't know what i've brought him. we haven't set a budget as such, just to not go over board - i haven't that much

stillenacht · 14/12/2008 17:53

We have decided he is getting me perfume (Chanel Chance) and i am getting him AC/DC album (i think it was - don't really listen when he talks about all that stuff lol!)....aahh so much for the romance of Christmas

crazyloon1 · 14/12/2008 18:08

I am desperate to get almost-dp something this year as he got me a pressie years ago when we first met.

However he is still (afaik?) with the long distance woman he said he might not be with for long...

so I should wait really shouldn't I - until he actually is my dp? (might never happen!)

I owe him something.

Blandmum · 14/12/2008 18:23

Let him surprise you and enjoy it.

I have no surprises this year because my dh dies in June.

enjoy christmas and a lovely surprise. at the risk of being Gothic, we are all a long time dead.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2008 18:38

YABU

MoccaMint · 14/12/2008 18:56

OP, YANBU but you're gonna destroy the surprise.
