Because that's what just happened!

DP thought a nice festive lunch would be fun. He got mil over to look after the kids and we met up with some of his friends at a lovely Italian place.

The buffet was £6.00, so we all took advantage. One of DP's friends (a barrister) complained that there wasn't any meat, so the owner said he would bring some... (he didn't ask fir any)

The bill arrived and DP's argumentative friend was charged for the meat. He challenged the point with the owner and they argued and argued ad nauseum.

I told the owner that the meat wasn't ordered; it was offered and no charge was mentioned at the on set. He said he wasn't running a charity.

The owner eventually took it off the bill, but essentially told us we weren't welcome
back.

They all thought it was a hoot - I'm so embarrassed...

Serves you right for fraternising with barristers. Stick to the working classes, they'd be so busy pretending to be middle class they wouldn't have dared misbehave

All you can eat for £6, sounds lovely
