To be annoyed at this freecycler?

So, I replied to somebodys offer on freecycle. Obviously it is their right to give it to whoever they want. But this woman said I could have it and we sent several emails to and from each other. I didn't get a reply from my last email but just assumed she wasn't online. Then a couple of days later I see a message that she had said to the whole of freecycle, telling everybody that I wasted her time and didn't turn up to collect. Apparently she didn't get my last email, but even if she hadn't, it had only been 2 days and I hadn't arranged to come and get it at a certain time/day or anything. What really annoyed me is that she put my name on there and sent it to the whole freecycle group! I use freecycle a lot to both give and take things and don't need her telling everybody I won't turn up!

I am really annoyed with her. I am not usually that bothered by freecyclers and just accept that you often get weridos and time wasters etc. But for her to post my name on the public board really annoyed me!!

I would e-mail the moderator of your group and explain ....

Nagapie · 08/12/2008 16:34

By the way - YANBU

pregapuss · 08/12/2008 16:42

But the email has already gone out to everybody so she won't be able to take it back or anything?

Do you know how I get the modorators email?

I would be pissed off at the moderators to be honest, they are supposed to check all emails and removed personal information!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 08/12/2008 16:59

There will be an email address if you check the group for the moderator that will go to all mods. They may not be able to take the message back but they can delete it from the group, message her, send a message to the group to explain it was a misunderstanding and most importantly if your group has a strike system then it will remove any strike against you.

YANBU - i had the same thing a while back.a freecycler offered to drop an item off for me even though i was more than willing to pick it up. i sent an email with my address and 2 days later as i hadn't heard from her, sent another one. she emailed me being quite snarky saying if i was 'still' interested to contact her by phone. she had a few items still listed and i contacted her through freecycle instead of her bt email address and she got it at last. she was very apologetic, but it annoyed me as i list a lot of stuff on freecycle and don't freak out when there's a no-show. would contact the moderator as that is well out of order and you might find you are not the first one to have problems with her

pregapuss · 09/12/2008 20:38

Glad I am not the only one who thinks it was out of order.

Does anybody know how I contact the modorator?

Did you email her to explain? Did she apologise?

TeenyTinyTorya · 09/12/2008 20:46

YANBU. Are the moderators' details on the group page? They can definitely do something about it. Tbh, they shouldn't have okayed the original message.

babyOcho · 09/12/2008 20:46

The moderator of your group should never had allowed that email to go out, regardless as to whether you were to blame or not.

pregapuss · 09/12/2008 21:15

I have emailed her and she said she didnt get the email. I then fwd her the mesage from my sent items, showing I emailed her back 2 hours after she emaild me.

She did briefly say sorry but it wasn't a proper apology it was i'm sorry but....type thing
