DH's best mate (who I was at school wiht too, have known him for15+ years) and his gf are staying t=for the weekend. Dh's BM took the afternoon off work and was pcked and ready to go, his gf hadn't even packed at 5pm, and then had to go and muck out her horse, then shower and change, so they didn't leave until gone 8pm, and it's a good 2.5 hours drive in optimum conditions.
DD's will be up at 6ish, DD2 wakes at 4am for a feed, I am shattered, and I just want to go to bed, but I have to make them tea when they get here so have to stay up as would feel rude to just leave DH here.

Sorry for rant but I just want them to get here so I cna go to bed!

I would go to bed

GO TO BED! If they don't understand, sod them. Your DH should be able to cope. At least you'll be able to function for the rest of the weekend then.

Go to bed, until they arrive...

She sounds like a reet modom.

LoolaBoys · 05/12/2008 22:24

I would go to bed too. Quite rude to arrive that late at night imo.

Thanks, DH is telling me to go to bed but I don't know, amd trying to do 'good hostess thing'

Dh is mainlining coffee too as he knows his BF will want to stay up drinking for a good few hours.
They just ahve no concept that we might have other things to do. Last time they stayed they came down at 9ish and said 'ooh, have you been up long'

She is very young (in comparison to us that is, she is 8 years younger than us) and just doesn't get it. Plus she isn't my friend (is veyr 'hunny' 'Babe' but by default Dh spends time with his mate adn I am stuck with her'

God I am such a bitch!

The other eason I ahve stayed up is I have just cleared all teh jjunk out of the spare room and tarted it so they have new sheets, fresh towel bales (oh yes, DD and I have been fannying about in there all day) and even some shampoo/ cream samples as they have always had to stay in the crap filled junk room so I want to see their reaction...

(I even put small chocolate sweets on teh towels)

go to bed and for god sake send the kids into their room in the morning when they get up

ChirpyGrinch · 05/12/2008 22:37

They have texted, have just left motorway and will be here soon.
She texted that she doesn't want food as feels sick (fair enough, is only pasta) but that is all she said. It's not until I asked that she said he wants feeding too! charming!

Feel better for you all telling me to go to bed, I won't feel like such a bitch only staying up to say hi and then fucking off to bed!
