I know, it hardly seems worth trying to make a start just before Christmas...

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 15:47

Nay, start now. If you wait until after Chrismtmas you will have an extra 5lb to shift.

SammyK · 05/12/2008 15:48

I am terrible for doing this.

In fairness though I'm an all or nothing person and there is no way I will get through a healty eating regime during the festivities (like booze and chocolate too much)!

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 15:49

That's why it's easier to abstain lass - you will get a peverse pleasure form being so good while everyone else is stuffing themselves!

SammyK · 05/12/2008 15:49

MrsSBean - I am in two minds TBH, I need to do something I am hanging over my jeans.

Hmm, it's doable though I think - could just have xmas day 'off'.

SammyK · 05/12/2008 15:50

xposts I like that idea - can smile smugly

OP posts:
SammyK · 05/12/2008 15:51

my non festive smilies look bald

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 15:51

Tha day you hang over your jeans is the day you need to take urgent action - crack open the pre-packed salad at once!

SammyK · 05/12/2008 16:36

Have decided to stop kidding myself and start sooner rather than later.

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 16:37

Good for you! Get thee to slimming world - you are allowed to stuff yourself with pasta all day

SammyK · 05/12/2008 16:39

Nah I like WW

I'm with you OP,no point starting now, we'll start in the new year (gets diary out & flicks through... How about January 2010?)

Wizzcarol · 05/12/2008 17:16

I'm starting at end of Feb when I finish an exam. Procrastination is the way forward! OP YANBU!

Ladyface · 05/12/2008 17:21

Hey no slacking - you'll only regret it come new year!

Fish and veg for you and 50 sit ups before and after each MN session please.

sunnygirl1412 · 05/12/2008 17:21

Sammy and MrsSeanBean - you are both right in a way. I'm like you, sammy - finding it very hard to get motivated at the moment.

My intention is to be sensible in the run up to Christmas - mainly to try to avoid eating between meals. Christmas day, I'll be having my christmas dinner - I don't stuff myself sick at Christmas, but I'll enjoy what I eat.

Then the new year will mean a new diet and a resolution to go to the gym regularly again - earlier this year I was going three times a week, and losing weight without changing my diet, but then we moved house, and I had another bout of depression, and haven't got going again.

SammyK · 05/12/2008 17:25

I am starting tomorrow, mainly just to avoid gaining even more between now and the new year. I think I will go and get weighed tomorrow to shock myself into it (don't have scales in house).

I am on ADs and really need to push myself to do stuff, pretty bad at looking after myself.

OP posts:
MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 17:27

SammyK - that is a good plan - I discovered that my home scales weighed me 5lbs lighter than I really was!

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 17:27

Er- i wish!! 5lb heavier I meant!

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 17:28

Er - no - sorry I meant what I meant before iykwim (sorry my brain is fried from frantic MNing)

sunnygirl1412 · 05/12/2008 17:34

OK MrsSeanBean, step away from the keyboard and go get a breath of fresh air, and a cup of tea!!

MrsSeanBean · 05/12/2008 17:37

Mmmm and a mince pie (no sorry - wrong thread - Mince pies are bad bad BAD!)

sunnygirl1412 · 05/12/2008 17:39

If you tap the mincepie on the edge of the plate before you eat it, all the calories fall off. Honest. I'd be twice the size I am now, if it wasn't for that.

SammyK · 05/12/2008 17:40

I am confused now too! Cuppa sounds good.

justunaccomplishedsanta · 05/12/2008 23:56

Nah YANBU I'm doing this too. I figure whats an extra 5lbs when I've already got 6 stone to shift.

phraedd · 06/12/2008 08:56

I was proxy parenting at the weekend and the 7 year old girl said:

"Paula, your tummy is getting very big. Are you having another baby?"

I think that it is time for me to try to lose a few pounds too but i really can't be bothered before Christmas!
