To think "cobblers"!

There used to be a time when you could take your boots to the cobblers and have them resoled and reheeled to make them last longer.

The last three pairs of boots I have had I've tried this, only to be told that it is not possible to mend them due to the type of material they are made from.

What is going on? I was told that it was the moulded soles that were the problem, so I carefully selected a pair with a proper heel, only to be told that they cannot be resoled.

The boots (which I got in a sale) were originally £90. So you spend £90 and were them for two months then bin them?

Reduce, reuse recycle.

I don;t think so. Disposble shoes, whatever next?

Is it just me?

DH has this issue as one of his pet hates. He buys shoes with leather soles, goes to get them resoled only to find out it would almost be cheaper to buy a new pair. Get those 'segs' on the heels of your next pair as it should help them last a bit longer.
