To think this was a bit iffy

I was in the library today with my DD and there were some toddlers there with two staff from a local nursery.

The toddlers still had their coats on and a strap attached to each one which fastens them all together when outside (dont know what its called).

One little girl who looked about 3 was playing up a bit and trying to go to another part of the library. The member of staff held onto the strap and started using it to pull her forcibly towards him across the floor. He then saw me looking and was a bit nicer to her.

I was just quite shocked by him using the strap to restrain her and yank her towards him when she was trying to escape.

Am i being too PFB and overreacting? I felt like complaining but they would definitely know it was me if they saw me again!!

i mean she wasnt running off, he wasnt using it like reins, she was facing him and not wanting to go over to him, and he pulled her towards him by the strap.

YANBU

speak to the nursery - could you identify them from their uniforms?

rubyslippersisappearinginpanto · 28/11/2008 15:05

the fact that he modified his behaviour suggests he knows he shouldn't have been doing it

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/11/2008 15:05

Yes they had the name and phone number on them!

it is just horrible and lazy

the little girl could have fallen over

i am not sure why they need to restrain the children in this way

they are inside FFS not near a busy road

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/11/2008 15:09

i didn't like his manner at all, the little girl was then reading out loud from her book while he read a story to them and he tapped her on the head and said "listen to it in here, dont read it out loud"...

please call the nursery

that is

Turniphead1 · 28/11/2008 15:14

agreed. not on. why would anyone be using reins indoors (and lets not start an MN debate on reins in general...)

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/11/2008 15:16

I think its the nursery my friend's kids go to.. might talk to her about it first...

You have to ring the nursery, no ifs or buts, hes bang out of order, and that was in a public place, so gawd knows what else he might bloody do when no one is looking. Make the call, and good for, we are all responsible for each others kids imo, more people like you and the world would be a nicer place.

CrushWithEyeliner · 28/11/2008 15:44

PLEASE call and report this - this is not on.

You need to be kind and patient in his job WTF is he doing "don't read it out loud"? this makes me so .
Please let us know the outcome

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/11/2008 18:55

yes I will contact them I think Thanks!
