To be about to complain to IKEA for phoning at 6.15 am?

I thought someone had died! They were going to deliver between 7 and 8, which is bearable, but phoned at 6.15am to confirm!
AIBU or am I just totally overtired (I had been up at 5am with my 5 month old baby and had only just got back to sleep).

Should I make a complaint?

no, do you mean 7 and 8 in the morning?

LilRedWG · 28/11/2008 09:46

Personally, anything before 6.45 gets my goat. Why couldn't they confirm yesterday evening or just deliver it when they'd agreed without confirming?

TrinityRhino · 28/11/2008 09:46

I wouldn't, you were expecting a delivery that could have come at 7am

within the hour before would be the normal time to ring and confirm

Essie3 · 28/11/2008 10:09

It was due to arrive between 7-8am, and they actually did phone to confirm yesterday evening, but I'm with LilRedWG on anything before, well, 7am!
I haven't had a full night's sleep for 5 months, so sleep has become more precious than diamonds to me!

Can I add, we didn't request that 7-8am slot, you get what you're given!
I suppose I should be grateful given that this is IKEA we're talking about...

Just be grateful - its a one off connected to an early delivery.

glasgowstyle · 28/11/2008 10:15

yanbu - but at least they delivered early & you didn't have to wait around

Essie3 · 28/11/2008 10:27

Well, against all advice from you good people I did call IKEA. (Or the courier company who work for IKEA.)
Interestingly...
They were totally sympathetic, as the couriers claimed that they had delivered at 7.10, (because they're not supposed to deliver before then anyway!) but the signature was an unknown name - not mine, not my husband's! My husband had signed, but was given a piece of paper rather than the electronic machine. They are looking into my complaint.

Totally overtired here!

well they really do have some strange ideas there- they tried to use royal mail to deliver a matteress to my house, only they explained they couldn't get it in the post?

Nah strange company, dont use them myself (matteress was for a friend stay till she moved into her flat - as soon as she got th mattress!)
