DD is in Y1 ,the cloakrooms have just been painted in school this morning we went in to find her name and it has been spelt wrong and made to look like another version of the name .

I am was not too bothered until I mentioned it to her teacher who had a word with the TA who had done the tags and I was then questioned "are you sure we've got it wrong ?" "That is her name isn't it?"
I had to take the teachers to her photo and show them how they had spelt it in September before they actually believed me !.

I know its not a massive issue but I suppose to a 5 year old it is .

This is somewhat crap. I always think it's quite disrespectful to get people's names wrong. And even more disrespectful to ask them to prove it. YANBU.

YANBU - I think that's outrageous!
If I was her teacher and had gotten her name wrong after nearly three months I'd be mortified!
your poor DD.

Oh I am glad its not just me who is a bit I understand accidents happen but to actually turn her name into another name is a bit off ,I did notice that the teacher was very quick to let me know that the TA had done the names lol.

Funny thing is she only ever gets called by the shortened version of her name and when we started the teacher made a point of asking if I wanted her full length name on notices or the name she uses which I did opt for ,now they have given her a brand new name .

it is massive as at this age they are learning to write there name so seeing how its spelt one way and then another will be very confusing for them

Fiveplusbump · 24/11/2008 14:37

Well I am hoping it has been changed by tomorrow morning or I amy take it down myself and hand it to the teacher .
