Just getting into pyjamas and paniced as one earing was missing. Dh helped me hunt all over for it. And where did we find it?? In the jewellery box as I had forgotten to put it on this morning. So I am a wally for forgetting, but am I being unreasonable to have expected my dh to notice and tell me!?!?

I once sat through an entire meal in a restaurant with my DH with a blood shot eyeball sticker stuck in the middle of my forehead.

I only realised when I went to the loo and saw myself in the mirror.

I asked him why he hadn't told me and he said 'I thought you knew'...

I feel your pain.

MeMySonAndI · 22/11/2008 19:49

I could come home with my hair the colour of carrots and DH wouldn't notice, perhaps until a few days later... an earing? he would never realise...

TheArmadillo · 22/11/2008 19:49

YABU
why would you expect someone else to notice.
you didn't.

some people just don't notice that kinda thing.

izyboy · 22/11/2008 19:51

Perhaps he thought you were making an 80's style fashion statement?

harpomarx · 22/11/2008 19:57

trust me, there are men who wouldn't notice if you had an ear missing...

Shoshe · 22/11/2008 20:04

Idyed my hair bright purple once, took DH's BF to notice four days later,

DH's reaction, 'Huh, Oh yeah!'

ButterflyBessie · 22/11/2008 20:05

YABU

He's a man ffs, you can't expect him to notice anything!!

RubySlippers · 22/11/2008 20:05

my DH wouldn't notice if i trapezed through my lounge in a leopard print bikini, with a rose clasped between my teeth

Shoshe · 22/11/2008 20:11

Bet the neighbours would tho RS, close your curtains

RubySlippers · 22/11/2008 20:11
Grin
kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 20:34

YABU, my DH would never notice. Not in a million years.

AuraofDora · 22/11/2008 20:48

how did you get a ceiling rose between your teeth? ruby!

op yabu
i would never notice that i would think it intentional / fashionable / or something to do with teenage sexuality ..

to paraphrase:
your earring, your lookout

BarcodeZebra · 22/11/2008 20:51

Yeah! Men, eh?

What are they like?

Bunch of shabby wankers. I'd divorce him if I were you...

mumeeee · 22/11/2008 21:17

YABU. I wouldn't notice if my daughters only had one ear ring in.

BrotherPan · 22/11/2008 21:28

Have you considered Relate?

beanieb · 22/11/2008 21:29

yabu

Nighbynight · 22/11/2008 22:05

YANBU! He SHOULD have noticed! You did remember to put it in your marriage vows, didn't you?

BrotherPan · 22/11/2008 22:11

maybe he was blinded by your excessive beauty??

Frankly, to agree to go searching with you to find the darned thing is above and beyond the call.......your earrings, you look after them, and all of that.

what sort of earrings are they??

IlanaK · 22/11/2008 22:12

Lol - thanks everyone! He is useless at noticing most things really so I shoud not be suprised. I just thought that as i had spent the day with him, he might have noticed! Then again, he probaly wouldn't notice if the ear was missing either.

OP posts:
BrotherPan · 22/11/2008 22:37

hmm..just thinking..how good are you at noticing things about him?
Females seem to bless themselves with a presumed sensitivity.....but often fall short of this elevated status.

He is blameless here, and made effort to assist you. But still gets a questioning of his application to task. Tut. Tut.

juicyjolly · 22/11/2008 22:43

I dont know about the men though.

My dh shaved his beard and his moustache off and he had to tell me after a whole day of me being oblivious!

BarcodeZebra · 23/11/2008 19:31

I expect that if he'd pointed it out you'd have nailed him up here for insensitivity and all that crap.

Can't win, won't win. Most of us quit trying to keep up with this stuff years ago.

Tell me, does he sigh heavily before he answers any of your questions?

Yeah, thought so...

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2008 19:58

YABU

if you didnt notice it,why should he?

i am very observant over jewellry - can spot an new piece very quickly - so sure i would have noticed it

LadyBuntingofCupcake · 23/11/2008 21:05

Is this a joke?

I once dressed up in black PVC (I was modeling a fancy dress outfit that I was planning to wear to a forthcoming party) and DH was more interested in watching a charity darts match! Men just don't notice these things... and quite frankly even I wouldn't notice a missing earring, and I'm a lay-dee.

choccynutter · 23/11/2008 21:14

YABU lol men don't notice anything enless you don't want them too then they notice
