If they're exhausted then I'd say YANBU. Be prepared for an early morning though!

loobeylou · 20/11/2008 17:57

depends whether they will go to bed and go to sleep or give you half an hour of grief & tantrums waiting for daddy!!

seriously though, DH can still give them a goodnight kiss when he comes in and if they are knackered they need their sleep

thesockmonsterofdoom · 20/11/2008 17:57

that is the problem isnt it, may try and keep them uop a bit longer.

my kids would sleep for three hours and then get up and rampage till midnight

misshardbroom · 20/11/2008 18:03

YANBU. Mine will be in bed for 6.30pm if it's the last thing I do. Just hope we don't live to regret it if they're up at 5.30am!!

BONKERZ · 20/11/2008 18:13

My DD (3) is already in bed and will be there till 7.30am and DS (8) will be going in half hour

nappyaddict · 20/11/2008 18:20

nappyaddict · 20/11/2008 18:20

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/11/2008 18:25

what time do they normally go?

sometimes children need an earlier night then usual

if they are tired, i would put to bed and say that daddy will kiss them good night

what time is dh normally home?

maybe they could say good night on phone?

TrinityRhino · 20/11/2008 18:27

I want to put mine to bed now too

sunnygirl1412 · 20/11/2008 18:36

Me too, Trinity - problem is that the youngest is 11 and his brothers are 13 and 15, so they may not be particularly keen on this idea!

TrinityRhino · 20/11/2008 18:46

well I can get away woth now but only just
dds are 8,3 and 21 months

if I let the 8 yr old read in bed there I'll get away with it

BONKERZ · 20/11/2008 19:03

YES DD always goes at 6 amd sleeps till 7.30 and DS usually goes at 6.30 but has been good today so has only just gone now!

2point4kids · 20/11/2008 19:06

Mine were cream crackered today as well so were both in bed at 6.15!!!
They normally go at 7, so not too much earlier, but they will be up by 6.30am tomorrow now

Dragonfly74 · 20/11/2008 19:12

Ds 2.9yrs normally goes to bed 7-7.30 but last night at 5 he asked if he could go to bed.
I was worried about having an early morning and tried to keep him up but he could hardly keep his eyes open, so he had his weetabix and a story and went to bed at 5.30 and slept till 7.50am. I think the darker nights have confused him he wants his pj's on at about 4 every night.
