Brief outline.....

We are fostering a baby almost 11 months old now who has been with us since she was two weeks old.

She has contact 3 times a week at her parents home. I send a diary book of mealtimes, nap times, how she's doing generally each time she goes for her contact visit. Today Dad had written in the diary

"Just to let you know its her mums birthday next week and she's worried she won't get anything from baby"

In Mums writing at the end of the note was dads birthday date which is a few weeks from now.

I know its a little thing but I'm feeling a bit about this.

You most definately are not being unreasonable. Dont have anything more helpful than whats already been said, just giving you my support.

I dont think that you are unreasonable to think that this is a bit .

They arent really acting like a family are they, certainly with this they arent taking normal responsibility for their child. I suppose that if they have general trouble doing this that might be why the baby is in foster care.

this sounds very odd, maybe they are hoping for a nice gift they can then sell on ebay?!

absolutely agree that they ought to sort each others gift/card from baby, and that a hand print etc is more than enough for you to do. (If this is very long term as child gets older you could do piccies/biccies etc as the child might WANT to do something, but NOW, they are being ridiculous!)
