Xmas presents already (from Uk to UK addresses) with cards. Posted early Nov.

Is that not a little odd?!

Lovely thought but has anyone else done this?!

erm... well i'm considering posting out a xmas present to my friends in leeds area... I dont want it to get lost in the rush during december.... and i dont want to leave it too late!!

hippipotami · 19/11/2008 09:38

Maybe she has a lot on in December? Maybe she is going on holiday for the next month?
Maybe she is pregnant and needs Christmas 'sorted' before the baby arrives (I did that nearly 6 years ago, dd born just before Christmas, everyone had their cards and presents early Dec)

Need more info before we can judge her odd.
Until then we can only judge her 'very organised'

onthewarpath · 19/11/2008 09:39

Maybe she is just very organised and you should be grateful that she has done it. She seem to have enough estime for you to make sure you will get it on time. Does it really matter if no one else has ever done this ??????

cupsoftea · 19/11/2008 09:40

Wow very impressive - good idea as the post can be slow sometimes.

CatIsSleepy · 19/11/2008 09:40

coo! am impressed at her organisational skills
come on, get with it, not done yours yet?!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 19/11/2008 09:42

oh Hippi- i'm pg... only 19wks though, but nesting is kicking in big time, i'm all prepared for xmas because of it... i'm normally a december shopper etc... Pregnancy does funny things to us!!

I also have a lot on the week before xmas with my DS's bday and xmas all in the same week so need to be sure i'm sorted before then!!

hippipotami · 19/11/2008 09:44

Congratulations glaskam

I now start planning for Christmas early, but leave a lot of the buying until December. Maybe I need another pregnancy to get more organised

CatIsSleepy · 19/11/2008 09:44

actually am also trying to be more organised this year...can't face a last minute dash for presents at 6 months pregnant!

how are you ipa?

sparklestickchick · 19/11/2008 09:44

one year i was sooooooo super organised i wrote my xmas cards in march(not knowing i was 3 months pregnant )everyone had their cards with an extra note on the envelope saying 'merry xmas from matts too xx' the number of people that asked me when id actually wrote the cards was amazing lol.

MorocconOil · 19/11/2008 09:48

at writing christmas cards in march. We've just about cleared up the last of the pine needles by then.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 19/11/2008 09:49

i knew there was a bonus to being pg over xmas!! haha!!

(and ta hippi )

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 19/11/2008 09:50

sparkle!!!!!! that is SUPER SUPER organised...

whoingodsnamewasi · 19/11/2008 09:52

She sounds organised to me, and maybe sending them early means less chance of them getting lost, as there will be far less packages being sent.

Tn0g · 19/11/2008 09:53

I'm always highly suspicious of super organised people,

especially at Christmas time.

ipanemagirl · 19/11/2008 09:53

Hello CAT!! How are you?!

Honestly, I'm hugely impressed, and of course it's just very organised of her, I just wish I was so organised!

Need to get off mumsnet and hit my chores before that baby wakes up!!!!

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 19/11/2008 09:56

am busy growing a super-ginormous bump

tnog-are you a carefree last-minute present buyer? i just can't bear the stress of it...and the closer to xmas the more horrendous the shops get

ipanemagirl · 19/11/2008 10:00

TNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGGGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
ipanemagirl · 19/11/2008 10:00

congrats CAT!!! how many months!!!

baby really screaming now!

OP posts:
Tn0g · 19/11/2008 10:05

Oh God, no not care free at all, Cat

more sort of blind panic and desperate, but I just can't get organised too early no matter how I try.

Tis my genes.

When I say suspicious I suppose I mean jealous.

Ipa that child is interfering with you being on here, have you not heard of controlled crying?

Troutpout · 19/11/2008 10:17

I did this when i was pg with dd (due boxing day)

CatIsSleepy · 19/11/2008 10:23

LOL@ controlled crying

ipa am just over 5 months atm

hope that baby gives you some peace soon!

claireyBANG · 19/11/2008 10:27

I intended to be like this last year as ds was due on dec 10th, bought the cards really early and even wrote a lot of them but most of them never got sent. Same with his birth announcements, I got them printed (did a photobox order with a pic of him)about 2 days after he was born but with the exception of 4 or 5 they are all still sat in a drawer

ipanemagirl · 19/11/2008 11:58

Congrats to The Sleepy Cat!!! I wish I'd make the most of th pg and sorted out my life before this little adorable fierce beasty arrived!

Tnogu! She won't let me do what I like! But I do leave her to cry sometimes..... I'm pretty inconsistent though which is the killer of a sleep training I suspect!
How is the weather on your fairest of isles?
I watched the Wind That Shook The Barley the other night, what a film! Have you seen it? Can we go discuss it some where if so?

Have to go meet some other babymammas.... they're all so YOUNG! I feel like a granny! And Ache like one too!!
hugs all round.
Luckily MIL has decreed widely that we are doing smaller xmas, just immediate rels not presents for cousins etc etcPHEW the relief is immense!

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 19/11/2008 12:28

oh I'll be sorting my life out when mat leave starts (ha! that's the idea anyway)

have fun with the young babymammas
(i feel about 100 right now btw...)
