Had a very long and soul destroying/ time wasting convo with the customer service tech guy at my mobile service provider. He insisted on going through a pointless check list of fixes for my clearly buggered phone - " have you switched off and on again? ... Have you taken battery out and put it back in again?... Have you tried to switch it on w/out sim card/ with a different sim?... Have you climbed mt Everest and run around in circles with you clothes on backwards while switching your phone on and off again????" (okay maybe not the last one).

After finally convincing him that they need to fix the damn thing and arranging a courier to come round with a jiffy bag... he then tells me I will be sent an interactive text message to tell me when it will be returned Not wanting friends family etc. to be dragged into this farce I say I have no mob so what is point??? He seems perplexed by my lack of enthusiasm for the idea - grrrrrrrrr

Still should get phone back this week and I just hope it works until I can extricate myself from any contractual obligation to this company (can you tell I have had problems with them in the past?!).

... and breath. I probably sound like one of those foaming at the mouth types that ring into Any answers on sat afternoons - but I am usually very mild mannered honest.

You can get text messages sent to any BT landline these days

Sorry that probably is making you go grrrrrr even more now! But seriously you can.

Why don't you just take the sim out and put it in an old phone - you must know someone who has one. Ask your friends.
