Watching Rich kid poor kid last night and the rich mother made me so mad. They don't live that far from me TBH and I would love to go give her a reality check.

I am shocked that at the Mothers remarks about no English people live around here its mainly black's WTF are people really that dumb and narrow minded even her little boy said she was being racist.

and that all people off a council estate are either on benefits or will mug you and are Chav's

I think I am more shocked because they live in between Clapham and Stockwell and yet she is so blind to the truth.

i didnt see it but sounds shocking.i hate small minded ,arrogant people.

I saw it - thought the posh girl really did seem to have learnt something by the end of the programme though and by the end wasn't that bad for a 15 year old.

The parents, however, were irredeemable.

Is it just me, but I thought that one of the things you HAVE to do if you bring a child up into such privilege, is teach them not to be such idiots and appreciate how lucky they are - both the school and the parents failed in this respect IMO.

i found the kids okay in the end in that programme but both the rich parents and poor mum pretty shocking examples of parents for one reason or another to be honest. i really hope i am not like that as a parent with my DS!

CheeseSarnie if you have More4 it will be on there in the next couple of weeks it was really shocking to see how naive people are. Espeically living in a city like London.

I did not see the programm but agree that some "posh" people can have funny ideas about the "real world". I live in the country side and was having a nice chat with this woman or so iI thought). It went wery well until I mentionned my DH nationality and she asked "Oh your living on brenefits then?". I was so shocked I could not even answer that she was out of order and wrong, put on a brave face and left. I cried all the way home.

pingping · 14/11/2008 10:32

I know what you mean onthewarpath about the country people alot of my family are from there and they can be very arrogant and naive.
I am shocked that someone would say that to you. what is wrong with people.

I think that I was more shocked at the Mother because she does not live in the best part of London and yet she thought she was all that because she was white and had money [hmm.

What gets me more is why is living on a council estate such a terriable thing and why when you live on an estate do people assume that your on benefits and you don't want to better yourself? I work hard and I live on a council estate but I private rent so does that make me better? hmmmm

I thought that the 'poor' girl showed real determination to make herself and her brother a better life. I hope she does well in life.
