to hope that the people who tortured that baby to death will get a taste of their own medicine in prison?

I know that two wrongs don't make a right and all that...but I can't help it.

I really can't accept that they'll just get a few years in prison and be out to get on with their lives. I don't even agree with the death penalty, but this Baby P case just makes me (along with everyone else, I know) so so angry.

So AIBU to actually wish them harm?

then this is a very unfortunate way to make your first venture out into the big wide world of the rest of MN. With all those boards at your fingertips, it didn't occur to you that anyone else might have started a thread about this already? Or that 'AIBU' wasn't necessarily the best place?

yes you aould win sgb

Humphrey.

"I'm not "making stuff up"."

Yes, you are.

"There are numerous inappropriate threads on this topic; some of them have been poring over the graphic details."

Right...have already said that I looked (though admittedly not through every thread on every topic on the whole of MN) and MINE did not do that. Hence my statement that you are making stuff up. How is your comment relevant when mine was not doing that?

"Your thread is merely another one in a long line of inappropriate crap."

In your opinion, and again, don't give me grief because it's like some other threads that I didn't see that you didn't like!

"I'm stunned that you feel the need to grin and joke about it all though."

Yeah. I find the whole thing hilarious . I do find YOUR attitude quite bizarre, but not funny - the grin was a kind of appeasing-while-backing-away-from-ranty-person type thing.

You obviously don't like this thread. I think I've understood that now. So...I'm guessing you think IABU - and I'm evil/ sick/ inappropriate/ whatever. Let's not waste any more time on it as we're never going to agree, I've understood your points and you might as well get back to a thread that you do want to post on, like one about Tesco or something.

OP hasn't committed a crime!!! She doesn't need to be chastised! How is she supposed to know about the MN unwritten code of conduct about where one may post and where one may not? She may have had the impression that this is a chat room and that one may be able to post a message in whatever category one wants.

Aitch · 14/11/2008 23:04

so do you still hope that the people who tortured that baby to death will get a taste of their own medicine in prison?

not if you read active convos it isn't. people have been hiding 'in the news', wouldn't possibly have thought someone would be crass enough to use the jokey/controverial aibu for a thread about this.

blueshoes · 14/11/2008 23:09

Of course givemesleep is entitled to post anywhere she wants on whatever topic. I have been a member for years but don't have vast amounts of time to trawl active convos from top to toe on a daily basis and in fact rarely get past AIBU. Harping about unwritten rules is silly. Last I checked, no one person owned this board.
