To think that "Pot Luck Lunch" is very different from "Tea and Home Bakes"

We have a meeting this weekend - the inital plan was to have a pot luck lunch, and then have the meeting after it - informal lunch followed by fairly formal meeting but everyone has a chance to chat etc.

That has now become "tea and coffee and home bakes after the meeting" - which is what we have tried a number of times before (the idea was to make this time different)...

I'm mainly narked because I can rustle up a huge pot of chilli to feed 10 hungry adults with about one tenth of the effort that I'll need to put in to whip up 12 muffins and frankly this week I can't be bothered...

Buy shop cakes and ice them yourself

What about choc chip shortbread biscuits? Flour, butter, sugar, choc chips. Mix up, cut out, bake. Done

YANBU.The change of plans would annoy me too, but muffins are about the easiest type of cake to make, you don't have to cream anything just mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. Far easier than making chilli imho.

Jane Asher's American brownies - easy peasy. Definitely easier than chilli.
