Am having nightmare with a very well known diy store, ordered £151 of goods, plus £10 delivery.
The delivery was missing door handles and hinges, called them and they said I could pick some up from a store near me and not be charged, they would fill out some form to tranfer the money I had paid online.
So i toddle off with DD's, 2.9 and 13 months in tow, they have just enough bits, but have no clue what this form is so insist i pay another £72.
Cant not get them from instore as otherwise they wont be delivered until next week, so no good for the weekend. Am now on phone again and they are happy to refund the £72 but are being very difficult about refunding the delivery charge, which I am insisting on as I still had to go to the store.

I think it would be more than reasonable for the store to refund part of your delivery charge, as you had to go to the store to collect the missing bits - especially as you had the extra hassle about the £72 when you got there!!

If they'd offered to send the rest of the bits, with free delivery, that would have been different. As they weren't offering this, you are not being unreasonable at all!

YABU, you got half your money back, a great result i'd say

ChirpyGirl · 12/11/2008 15:02

? I didn't get any money back, I am no better off. I paid £151, had to pay another £72 for the missing parts instore and have had that £72 refunded, so am no better or worse off apart from £10 I paid to not have to go to the store.

oh sorry, misread it, YANBU, not at all

agree that they should refund the del charge as a good will gesture, go on tell us who it is

ChirpyGirl · 12/11/2008 15:25

(google diy, and it is fairly obvious)

have just been told they will refund it, not because of delivery as a delivery was made, but because the store made me pay twice, like i care why!

thanks kitsmummy, twas a bit of a garbled op!)
