To think that that irritating Gok should get nekkid himself if he's demanding everyone else is?

ha ha! And if it's so tickety boo to be rolly poly, then why did he diet himself to be a twig?

I do like him though,I was shocked and disappointed when I heard about him spraying those women's t-shirts wet or whatever mean stunt it was. Mean. Not liberating at all.

Let's see your Todge Gok??!?! so we can spray cold water on it.

I'll sign that petition.

Zebraa · 11/11/2008 21:25

YANBU! I don't like him. Personally I think he's full of shit. He used to be over weight and had it all trimmed and sucked didn't he?!

I think he's got a tacky dress sense for women too.

YANBU

I completely agree. If he thinks we all look so great whilst naked why has he just started his own range of "control" underwear? He is a hypocrit and I am bored to tears of these type of programmes.

nametaken · 11/11/2008 21:27

I can't think of anything worse than seeing Gok Wan naked. I'm off now to try to erase the image from my mind forever.

cheerycherry · 11/11/2008 21:28

All seems a bit pervy to me, but haven't seen any of the series before...

LittleBella · 11/11/2008 21:34

It is the first programme of it I've seen, it's quite good on surgery.

Hideous.

Why do women let a gay man tell them what to wear?! Anyway, his taste is awful.

Ew at Gok naked. I quite like the usual programmes, not watched his new one with Myleene Klass though.

MorrisZapp · 14/11/2008 12:06

He is totally nauseating.

In his new show - which he presents wearing more slap than Lily Savage, accompanied by Myleeene Klass, ditto - he tries to get ordinary looking women to do without makeup.

And then talks all about 'journeys' and processes' etc which lead to the ultimate aim for all women - ie taking their clothes off in public and on camera.

WTF? When did we require that women validate themselves by stripping? Do men have to do this? I think not.

I am a confident, happy woman, proud in my own skin. And thanks v much Gok, but I think I'll keep that skin private, just like you do. I have nowt to prove and neither do any of your victims.

It's just more misogyny dressed up as 'empowerment'. Barf.

Fimbo · 14/11/2008 12:09

I hate hate hate when he goes on about "bangers".

Ironically Myleene is taking over on 10years younger.

LittleBella · 14/11/2008 12:43

watsthestory I would want to see Gok's todger, because he is so insistent on the world and his wife seeing the breasts and arses of all the women he ever gets in front of a camera.

As MorrisZapp says, getting nekkid in front of a camera is never suggested as a form of empowering men and if Gok thinks it's so bleedin' empowering, he should lead the way.

I like Gok. I enjoy the programs and I think it is really fascinating how he can take a vulnurable woman and effectively bully her into doing something terrifying, which she then enjoys. I think the naked thing is just for the ratings to be honest. And I think that the fact he has body issues himself gives him a bit of insight.

agree, I'm sick of skinny Gok, trinny and suzannah pulling and pushing overweight/or slightly overweight women about like they're a piece of meat

thing is why the hell do the woman get their gear off on national tv? who the hell wants to see anyone naked? all the girl power stuff is a load of shite

tiredsville · 14/11/2008 16:01

Definitely, Why doesn't he wipe of his slap and then we can say 'Gok, look in the mirror and celebrate your ropey skin.'

corriefan · 14/11/2008 16:13

I agree with the sentiment that beauty should be about less superficial things and that most women are not completely happy with themselves because of looking at unrealistic ideals. But there are conflicting messages going out:

love yourself the way you are and enhance your beauty with styling

be a completely natural beauty and strip yourself of any signs of individuality such as piercings or quirky makeup- a tall order for most of us.

There's also:

Be a confident woman, stand up for yourself and know your values,

Be ridiculed by a panel of heavily made up judges who disagree with everything and make you bow and scrape for the priviledge of being there.

It;s just made me feel a bit sorry for these women and guilty for wearing makeup!

However I do wish more normal looking women were used in the media and a wider spectrum of looks and styles would be admired

totalmisfit · 14/11/2008 16:15

I'm so glad i'm not the only one sat at home wondering why i'm watching this control freak tell women what they should be/feel/do.

He's just gone too far with this show. I think he lulled them into a false sense of security with his nice guy act and little did they know they'd be lined up in flimsy horrible dresses having to explain themselves to him every week. Just because he has had body 'issues' vulnerable people trust him. I'm sure just about every despot has had 'ishhooos' at some point in their lives.

tiredsville · 14/11/2008 16:18

I agree with you Corriefan. Although I didn't watch the whole series, I found the judges horrible.
Funnily enough, I may have got the wrong end of the stick, but I thought the female judges were jealous of the mum with the 4 kids and history of cervical cancer.

corriefan · 14/11/2008 16:27

yes I remember they looked at a photo of her proudly showing her breasts and they tore her apart saying she looked 'smug'.

These women are basically being told what they should think and they are toeing the line for the sake of the competition. What they should think though varies from week on the whim of him and the judges. How degrading for them to try and second guess what the right thing to do next is.
