My DS#2 is six months old and has chicken pox. The spots came out yesterday and he is very crabby. I knew this was coming as DS#1(4yo) had them last week. Now the point of this is that DS1 is due at preschool today and as DH is away at work I have to take DS1 myself with a sick baby.bAIBU in dragging the baby out too? Or should I stay in for another day of bored 4yo rantings?

I think if ds is infectious then you should stay in. Sorry.

I'd put baby in buggy with rain cover over and take them. DS1 has been/is going to be confined to barracks enough. Try not to linger/go inside if you can and get home asap. Everyone will be fine and you/DS2 will be glad of the break.

i would take ds to nursery
he is not contagious any more

Yes. either walk and keep baby tucked up inside buggy or drive and leave baby in car seat while you dash ds1 into pre-school
will do ds1 good to get out and about and you and baby ca rest while he is out

Thanks guys! Raincover idea is great! And i can get one of the nursery people to come out and collect DS1 from outside so baby doesn't infect everyone else!
