DS#1 got his bike nicked 2 yrs ago. Because he left it leaning against the front wall of the garden in the street. Insurance paid for it but only after DS had been subjected to weeks of lectures about being responsible and thinking things through and using common sense. Go a new bike. By and large has been very sensible and still has it.

DH has started cycling to work and back recently. And leaving his bike in the front garden. Without a bike lock. Last night we both were woken to the sound of some f*cker riding off on DH's bike.

Am I totally unreasonable to take the p unmercifully? Or should I be nice and sympathetic? My inclination is towards the former After all he has* to learn

I think you should subject him to weeks of lectures about being responsible and thinking things through and using common sense

OrmIrian · 08/11/2008 13:48

Sorry, if DS sees you taking a different line with dad than with him then it will lead to resentment and confusion. For the sake of your son you have to submit him to torture lectures

sleepyeyes · 08/11/2008 13:54

I think you should get your son to lecture him for weeks, ater all thats what your DH did to him and it worked.

sleepyeyes · 08/11/2008 13:54

Sorry ment get your DS to lecture your DH.

You need your cat's bum mouth complete with pursed lips ...........> *

Good idea to get DS on board too.

Cat's bum idea not so good. I'm getting on a bit these days - if I did that it would take days to straighten out the wrinkles
