This

My mum wants that for christmas and has asked me for it but I think it's tacky but I hate Playboy stuff. I know it's her choice and she's hardly old or nothing but I just think that's most suitable for a teenager or something.

I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I don't mean to come across so preachy. She is young looking and very young at heart but still...playboy...seriously?

Totally agree 39 isn't old you are only as old as youy feel and all that totally agree I'm 22 and feel older than her

Although I did get ID'd for fags the other day...

Or, Mamadiva, this is super mean but given that your Mum is 39 you must be a lovely young gorgeous late teen/early 20s?? and I bet your Mum is influenced by you, so you could reeeeally lay it on thick that ALL your friends think Playboy stuff is so tacky and "Liz MacDonald out of Corrie-style"...

mamadiva · 07/11/2008 12:24

ROFL at Loulou she wouldn't believe me.

Honestly slightly embarassing here but I think my mum has a better style than me

Apart from Playboy obviously.

Fanks, More!

I tried that previously but must have got it wrong because it appeared as such: here are some fairy lights instead of a "here are some fairy lights" link.

Right am going to practice with the Argos page:

charm bracelet

Did it work???

BarbieLovesKen · 07/11/2008 12:26

ah, if she wanted it I'd get it for her...

Having said that it is a bit sad that shes "in to" the whole playboy thing. Can see where you are coming from in relation to her age because it definately is marketed at teenage girls

Oh and to others, in fairness, no - in fairness 39 isnt old but come on, its definately not young either now, is it?

Littleladyloulou · 07/11/2008 12:26

YAY IT WORKED!

Woo-hoo!!

Littleladyloulou · 07/11/2008 12:29

Buy it and the bunny is history when she ain't looking! Moo-ha-ha-ha...

Anyway. Wait until the High School Musical phase, then you woulf be grateful for Playboy!!!

Littleladyloulou · 07/11/2008 12:30

would

more · 07/11/2008 12:31

Cheering for Littleladyloulou wwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (or whatever kind of cheering noise a crowd makes)

mamadiva · 07/11/2008 12:31

Woohoo well done Loulou!!!

I don't know what to do... am tempted because that is what she wants but it looks so cheap and tacky ARGH.

cheesesarnie · 07/11/2008 12:31

or buy her a charm bracelt-a nicer one and put it from your dc.say you couldnt possibly put a play boy thing from a child.

Littleladyloulou · 07/11/2008 12:33

I'm cooking on gas today!!!

I feel even prouder than when I got my 10 meters swimming badge.

mamadiva · 07/11/2008 12:34

Ah now that might work Cheese.

Anyone on here got any other suggestions?

OP posts:
mayorquimby · 07/11/2008 12:36

fair enough she's a bit older but if it's wha she wants why not get it for her. although i do agree something like that is a bit young and tacky for a woman of 39

cory · 07/11/2008 12:38

IMO young whippersnappers of 39 aren't old enough to know what they want anyway.

mamadiva · 07/11/2008 12:41

Thats what it is Cory I have her best interests at heart! Even if sahe cant see it now she will in te future, although Im still waiting to see the results of that speech from her after all those years LOL.

ninedragons · 07/11/2008 12:47

It's very naff but then so is Christmas.

The heart wants what the heart wants - God knows everyone has enough unwanted gifts sitting stuffed in attics and the back of wardrobes. If she wants it, buy it for her and tell her to wear it with pleasure.

HollyGoHeavily · 07/11/2008 12:48

I think her age is immaterial - none of my cash would be going anywhere near Hugh Heffners pockets as he is a total disgrace [purses mouth like a cats bum].

You can get some nice charm bracelets in other places - would she like one of those instead???

Ronaldinhio · 07/11/2008 12:50

yabu

buy her what she wants
I'm sure she did for you for years

QuintessentialShadow · 07/11/2008 12:51

It is so naff. I would not spend any money on playboy. I really disagree with it.

Can you buy her another chunky silver charm bracelet?

and my goodness, how young is your mum!
Feeling old.

FairLadyRantALot · 07/11/2008 12:53

Is your mum going through a midlife crisis?[ducks and prepares hard hat]

I'm 38 years old...and , like you, hate Playboy stuff...for the reasons mentioned here already...

However, if she really wants it, well...what can you do....other than maybe asking what else she would like if, say, you couldn't get it fo whatever reason

mamadiva · 07/11/2008 12:57

LOL Fairlady I thought about that one but no shes just having a new start thingy I reckon in process of getting divorced and starting to get a life again as the kids (3YO Twins and 13YO brother) go to their dads at the weekend so she can go out and one of her friends is a totally immature young and hip and think it was her who introduced her to Playboy Twat

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 07/11/2008 12:57

yabu if she wants it, buy it.

you cant tell her what she can wear

(but i admit she has bad taste)

Ronaldinhio · 07/11/2008 12:58
