To spend £100 of my holiday money on clothes?

I've been saving like mad to pay off a holiday and it has made me incredibly skint since the day it was booked. I only have two jumpers and 2 pairs of jeans (one has a hole in) and I'm wearing a raggy old coat that I've had for around 8 years. I feel so scruffy, as if I'm constantly wearing the same clothes

Anyway I have £300 sat in the bank waiting to go on to the holiday. It has £600 left to pay on it so this £300 would take the overall balance left to pay to £300 (obv!)

I'm really tempted to draw £100 of it out and spend it on some winter clothes for me and the kids. We have a presentation night coming up so we all need new clothes for that anyway, I'd be able to get a new coat and a few jumpers and the holiday would take aprox 1 month extra to pay off (so it would be paid around January).

Not ideal, but I don't know what to do.

Should I draw the £100 out and spend it on clothes?

How about a compromise and drawing out £50?

You won't feel so guilty and will be able to get a new coat & new scarf or new jumper & jeans with £50?

I think the new clothes will mean you feel happy about yourself, therefore the extra month in paying off holiday will seem eminently manageable.

Go shop

do you have a primark near you??

if so, then I reckon £50/£60 should cover it

so yes, go shopping. sounds like the boost from new clothes will do you more good than paying of the balance on time, rather then just a month later.

I'd have a look in the charity shops lots of people have clear outs around now and you can pick up some lovely winter clothes for a fraction of shop cost.

Yes the coat I want is in Primark for £25 lol

I've just paid £200 on the holiday (to get the money out of my hands!) and I'm going to go into town tomorow and buy a few bits ... whatever I don't spend out of the £100 I'll put on the holiday whilst I'm in town.

I've seen a nice shirt for DS for the presentation night in Tesco for £8 and another one for DS2 in Matalan for £6 so they'll do at least.

Sorry, just re-read and seen you want to get some clothes for the kids too.

I've just got a lovely River Island Jumper from a charity shop for £4. They are defo worth checking out.

Enjoy your shopping (smile)

Have you checked out ebay you can get bundles of clothes for about £10 for each boy then you could spend £40 on yourself and still have £40 to put on the holiday
