to be pissed off that the road and path out side my house are being dug up without any warning to residents.

Thats it really. Right smack bang outside my window they are digging up the road. I think its to do with the work being carried out at the school across the road but Im just slightly anoyed that no one has bothered to inform the residents that it will directly affect.

are you sure you have had no notice?
they often stick notices up on lampposts
or in the local paper

If it's council Highways/ Traffic work then you should have received a letter.

The Utilities do not have to tell you - they can send courtesy lettersm but don't have to.

it was something to do with the power, i saw a van... I just feel it would only have taken the work men a few moments to knock on my door and my neighbours door to inform us that the work was going to be taking place and how long it was going on for. Its going to cause all sorts of issues with parking.

Phone your local council and ask for the highway dept. They should be able to inform you who is carrying out the works and whether they need a license to do the works and rough time scale on how long it should take.
