arghhh i've been duped. Someone leant on doorbell and i told dh to ignore it..he opened it and it was his mum with his 18mnth old niece dressed as a pumpkin. She promptly threw herself to the floor and screamed for 45 minutes whilst MIL drank her tea!
told him we should have ignored it!

2shoes - that is appalling. Should have given them ex-lax chocolate.

Went to the posh part of town where lots of american's live as they are used to Trick or Treaters. Did 3 streets, only those with decorations and dc's very happy and very polite.

Have no pumpkin at door here but have still had one lot of visitors.

Dc's in bed and curry has arrived so have now turned off all lights at front and will not answer door!

Don't want to spill my wine

Am pleased to say that we've had none.

Hate trick or treating, stupid American bollocks.

Bah humbug!

After being caught out in previous years, I bought loads of sweets and biscuits for tonight. Guess what? Not a single trick or treater. Oh well - I'll just have to eat the goodies myself

We've had about 15 but there's still lots of sweets left.

I love seeing the little ones in their costumes, they're adorable.

Most of the kids have been very polite and cute but we did have 3 boys of about 12 literally demanding sweets. Not even a trick or treat out of them.

We've only had 2 lots so far. I don't normally "go" for it, but the second bunch who came were so lovely (and so many of them too!) and some even said thank you.

Touching wood, we don't normally have trouble, even when the "big" kids come out....DS1 (4) has been promised that if he's good going-to-bed-wise he can see the next bunch that comes round....

There's no jack-o-lanterns anywhere round here, does seem a lot quieter than last year, or maybe it's because we were out (at a halloween party!) earlier...

Well I stopped counting at 60 kids and they are still coming. Don't really mind. Have been calling the older teenagers over (the ones wandering the streets) and giving them sweets. Rather have them on my good side tonight.

I popped a not on my door saying Please don't knock or ring. I have heard loads pass by. So I'm a happy bunny tonight!

I haven't had a one! I lit the pumpkin and have a huge bowl of goodies just sitting there.

Ds 2 has been to a halloween party this afternoon and had a fab time.

Dd 5 has really got into the mood and is hanging by the window waiting for people to knock on our door to hand them sweeties and say 'Happy Halloween'. We have already had about 8 knocks, evenly split between little children with parents and tweenagers in a token mask. But they were all polite and thanked us.

I don't have a pumpkin or anything. Just had the lights on in our front room and hallway.

I bought loads of goodies and we've only had 2 knocks!

Most disappointed (but happily gorging myself on sweets)
