I just got in from town - trying to find a new hallowe'en outfit after finding out i can't go as Mrs. Lovett because my ex is going as Sweeny Todd! Soo sorry, i might be BU! But i'm wound up.

Gets on the bus.. the bus driver looked younger than me and called me 'doll' (!!)

He had 4 young girls all hanging about at the front of the bus with him, chatting, playing music, slapping each other.
Two were sitting in the high seats right behind his booth. They were singing The Sash somgs about Orange men. The driver was shouting back about the bus being for 'loyals', not sure what that meant though.
Then he shouted back to one of them 'Stace, get your arse up here you sexy slut' She looked about 16, and just jumped outa the seat, away to talk to him.

tbh i probably wouldnt have been to bothered and maybe wouldnt have noticed, but i was sitting with my ds 10 months and my niece who will be thee in december and picks up everything.

Anyway!! Rant over for today.

Ring the bus company.

elkiedee · 30/10/2008 15:21

Sounds offensive (in several ways) and dangerous - our buses have signs up saying don't chat to the driver when they're driving.

hollyandnoah · 30/10/2008 15:30

yeh, there are signs up here too.
They girls weren't traveling anywhere and were just on to keep him company, i only knew that because one of them asked him if they would be back in town intime to catch the number 3 bus.

Are you in N.Ireland? I'm no expert but I would have though a song about Orange men and buses only being for Loyalists was something to do with the euphemistically named "Troubles"?

hollyandnoah · 30/10/2008 15:41

I'm in Scotland. Don't know what troubles are either lol, but i have an idea anyway with the songs.

I'm from N. Ireland. Sd is right. It would be something about the bus being for loyalists (protestants). Report it to the bus company.
