Squash always gives ds1 tummy ache and un upset tummy. Unsure why but it always does. When I cut it out of his diet his tummy aches etc stopped completely over night. Dh knows this. Last sunday mil gave him 2 cups of squash he then had tummy ache and diarrhea into last week meaning he missed preschool. Today dh gave him a cup of squash at church. I was so annoyed and I was told he's only having one cup and hes been such a good boy and deserves a reward. At which point I said what rewarded with a bad tummy some reward!! (edited version) AIBU? Didn't actually know at first btw that dh had given it to him. THought he'd helped himself so I tried to take it off him. THen started an enormous fuss and tantrum at which point dh intervened and explained to me. So aibu or was he?

it not like he is just getting water then so i dont see why a cup of squash is a reward???

i much prefer to drink juice

i used to react badly to e numbers when i was a small child and used to get extremely hyper if i had coca cola or red lollies

but my mum and dad used to let me have some at parties and things like that because they knew that its not fair to with hold them all from me

but there are two things different - i didnt used to get an upset tummy, just turned into the devil and there wasnt really an alternative out then (it was all a new concept back then)

your son still gets a nice tasty drink

your poor DS isnt going to feeling great now but dont worry, he will learn himself that if he has squash he gets poorly (well when he is old enough to link the two)
