Well, I keep Chinese Dwarf hamsters (which make great pets for older kids and adults). I breed them from time to time too.
DP and I have been TTC for 5 months now. I know its not a long time, but it feels it. My job has been going really badly, lots of overtime and no chance of getting paid for it. I've put on about 1 1/2 stones this year and don't fit most of my clothes anymore.
Meanwhile, about 5 months ago I bought a new female hamster to breed from. This lucky animal:
- has her own home and doesn't have to pay any mortgage
- sleeps in her nest all day and doesn't have to go to work
- runs in her wheel and digs about all night, keeping fit without needing the gym and actually enjoying exercise
- doesn't have to worry about clothes and whether they fit or not
- has bred with a lovely male hamster, got pregnant first time (as they always do- lucky things)
- has delivered 2 cute as anything baby hamsters who are both thriving, 1 week old now, and about to open their eyes.
- and has already recovered her figure.
Suddenly realised tonight I am so jealous of her life. I want babies and a free house and an easy life! OK so she will only live for 3 years, but ignoring that bit she has it made. why can't life be that easy for me?
