.....i want it to have its own proper number

if it is called 3b it sounds like it is is related to 3 or 3a both of which are yuck

i want a proper number

Give it a grand-sounding name instead

"Chez-zippi"

"Zippi Manor"

"Zippitowers"

Overmydeadbody · 23/10/2008 15:41

You could always name it!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 23/10/2008 15:42

But at least it is a small number.
If you were in America it might be 673 or 8654.

Overmydeadbody · 23/10/2008 15:43

I nominate 'Fairy Cottage'

beansmum · 23/10/2008 15:43

You could get a little sign with 3 bees on it.

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 15:43

i dont think they let you name it

the guy is wanting it to be 4

but he has come across 4 in other uses on databases so he is investigating

fingers crossed for 4

of course the numbering will be nonsensicval

i think 1 and 2 are the other end of the road

I live in an "A" house and sometimes get a bit annoyed, tradesmen assume it's a flat when in fact it's the largest detached house on the street!

The previous owners gave it a name and called it by that but we thought that was a bit pretentious and ditched it a couple of years ago. Have you thought of that as an option?

DraculaNeedsArteries · 23/10/2008 15:44

Go and knock down number 4 and then you could be number 4...

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 15:44

yes i thought b sounded inferior lolol

Why 3b? If it is a house!! I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Is it not a bit like the Queen lives at palace 1, Charles at 2b, William at 3c.

DraculaNeedsArteries · 23/10/2008 15:45

Sorry xposts with your posts about number 4...

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 15:46

At least you aren't keeping your fingers crossed for a number 2

mosschops30 · 23/10/2008 15:46

confused, do 3 and 4 already exist??

more · 23/10/2008 15:48

lol Sycamoretree

pinkmagic1 · 23/10/2008 15:51

I think they do this when a new house is built on an old street. My mum lives at 2b, her house is a relatively new semi on a street of
turn of the century terrace houses.

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 15:54

3 and 3a exist so do 5 and 6 apparently

the asddress choosing engineer was going to call it 4 but that already exists on databases so he is investigating

he didnt mention 1 or 2

i am not on speaking terms with the cow woman who built 3 and 3a i shall be most distraught if i get 3b like im linked to her

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 15:56

i wouldnt mind it being a ponce name like The Coach House

gagamama · 23/10/2008 16:00

My road has a 1a and 1b. I live at 18. The number of times people mistake 1B on an envelope as 18 is unbelievable. Next door have the same problem with 1b letters being mistaken as 16.

So make sure you introduce yourselves to the people living at 36 and 38 or you might wonder why you never get any post!

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 16:01

oh there isnt 36 or 38

i think the highest number must be 6

OP posts:
mazzystartled · 23/10/2008 16:03

why not jsut chovse anvther number then
make it 23 or something

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 16:05

an engineer does it with house numbering credentials

I have just sent him an email saying I don't like 3b lol

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2008 16:06
