To be a tad dissapointed that no-one seems to be bothered that I have gone overdue?

I know I probably am, but still.

I went 11days overdue with dd. SIL was always texting to make sure I was ok, inlaws ringing etc etc.

I am now 2 days overdue with ds and no-one seems to give a toss

Just wanted to whinge. Sorry.

i care.

MamaG · 22/10/2008 17:01

See, I'm opposite to you. Iget immensely irritated by folk phoning and saying "any signs?"

Perhaps people think that you're sick of those type of ph one call.

SongbirdScreamsInTheDeadOfNite · 22/10/2008 17:02

So, Blackbird, still 'ere then? See? It's annoying! But I know what you mean, YANreallyBU!

filz · 22/10/2008 17:04

do you really want people ringing you? it drove me mad

ToThrottleABlackBird · 22/10/2008 18:26

Not really, no, but would be nice to know I am being thought of. Ah well, I will just enjoy the peace

Nobody gives a toss when it;s not your first baby.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant, though...and I care

ToThrottleABlackBird · 22/10/2008 19:40

Thank you

Oh dear poor you!

Get yourself dancing, it worked for me when ds went 4 days overdue!

wotulookinat · 22/10/2008 19:47

I care Trying very hard not to piss you off with constant texts asking if anything has happened yet
By the way, has anything happened yet?

ToThrottleABlackBird · 22/10/2008 19:57

Hehe Wot, nope, nothing yet although you know full well you would be one of the 1st to know!

Just so you are not annoyed i will ask if you have had your baby today?

lilymolly · 23/10/2008 18:27

oh be glad of the peace.

I was fed up of constant texts and calls when I went overdue with dd x

Hope its does not go on for too much longer

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 23/10/2008 18:29

well........in their defence, if your DD was 11days over, then maybe your family won;t count this baby being over until you hit 12days late!

sympathy tho,.....going over is pants.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 18:33

It's second baby syndrome I think.

I've deliberately kept my due date vague to avoid all the "you still here" stuff, and if anyone asks I just say "a couple of weeks" or recently "could be any time" as I'm now 38 weeks.

And my inlaws are so underwhelmed by the thought of grandchild No6 that they are off on holiday on Saturday

Mumi · 23/10/2008 18:54

Reckon it's because they know you were alright last time so you should be again, that's all

I thought preganant women got very fed up with people phoning for n ews when overdue. Maybe they are trying not to irrutate you!

scoobykez · 24/11/2008 12:28

I am a week overdue now, and, although I would be disappointed if no-one cared, I am sooooo sick of 'Any twinges?'. In fact I have told everyone I have banned the T word. What's a twinge anyway?? Surely if I had a twinge that was worth mentioning I would be in labour by now?!!

frazzledgirl · 25/11/2008 09:49

I went overdue and had to be induced.

I got endless calls and texts EVERY SINGLE DAY asking for any news. From people I WOULD HAVE CALLED if there had been any.

It drove me MAAAAAAD.

I think YANBU, on the grounds that no woman who is still pregnant after her due date can possibly BU - but being left alone does have its plus points!

BalloonSlayer · 25/11/2008 12:28

ToThrottleABlackBird?

Are you STILL there? !!
