I want a snooze. I'm more deserving! (-;

I'm mildly irritated. I've got my dad staying this week. I'm making nice meals, his washing, doing all the usual stuff with the children.

None of which, of course I mind doing in the least but then off he goes after lunch for a snooze. Whaaat?

It's me that should be going for a sodding nap especially after he gets up at 8.45am.

My parents never offer to mind the children whilst I have a snooze. Minor grump.

I wish I could sleep during the day! Even if I get the chance, I just can't.

My friend often phones me at 2.50pm to ask me to grab her son from school as she has fallen asleep on the sofa and woken up 5 minutes before school leaves! I'm like "How do you do it?!"

Not unreasonable - in fact I think it would be entirely reasonable for you to suggest the idea yourself. 'Dad, I'm a bit run down today, would you please mind the kids for an hour and a half so I can catch up some sleep?' is not rude, demanding or unreasonable... and if you're lucky it'll work. I know my dad was no good at offering, but also hardly ever said no if asked... some men just need prodding to do the right thing. Good luck
