To not buy my kids things I KNOW they want for christmas?

My boys really want a certain xbox 360 game for christmas but I know their grandma is giving them quite a bit of money for christmas so they will be able to buy it themselves and still have change. Plus it will be cheaper after christmas anyway probably.

Am I mean not to buy them in for christmas morning when I know they want it so much?

No, I think it's quite sensible really, unless you're strapped for ideas of other things to get them. Stuff like that is usually cheaper post holidays.

I agree with you, better to save your money. I plan on doing the same but luckly that DS1 14 just wants cash anyway.

I think that the OP wants to wait until after Christmas when the game will be cheaper (and I think this is a good idea )

shops are open on boxing day

why not get Granny to put the money in a card with a picture of the game stuck in the inside, so they know what it's for?

no i've never ever noticed console games cheaper after xmas either. only things cheaper round here are clothes and that's ony to make way for the new stock anyway.

Plus I do think dcs should have their presents on xmas day, that's what it's for after all.

Having said that, giving money instead of a gift is fine.

LaMonsterWeaselwolf · 21/10/2008 13:43

Some console games get cheaper at certain times of years because of returns. In a way it would depend how popular the game is at to whether or not it is likely to have a discount post christmas.

Gamestation usually has a massive sale on after christmas day. Last year they were selling xbox games for a tenner each, quite newish ones too.

This game will be about 6 months old by time christmas is here.
