To think that you should give more than a day's notice if you have decided that a party is fancy dress?

Woke up to a text saying, "oh sorry, forgot to say that Saturday's party is fancy dress". Ds1 doesn't even know he is going so am tempted to just give his apologies. I am not the arty type who can put something together from stuff around the house and don't have time to go off shopping today.

Bah.

I need at least a week for that sort of thing! Can you do a pirate? The easiest thing I can think of.

You could do what my parents did when I had an unexpected fancy dress thing as a child.

They stuck some white dots and a white bar on a black sack and sent me as a domino!
