To think that if I fish the remote control out of the toilet and dry it out in the airing cupboard I can use it again?

Not a remote control, but I dropped my mobile phone in a cup of tea. Took it apart and dried it on the radiator and works fine.

Mine went in the washing up, and all except one button worked once it was dry (it has since gone in the fish tank, along with two mobile phones, but they were in the water for longer and died!)

put it in a sealed freezer bag with some dried rice, apparently works a treat for phones etc

My ds threw our Sky remote in the bath.

Oddly enough once it dried it actually worked better.

take batteries out first

i dropped my phone in a black russian in my teens, and being drunk i decided to take it to peices and wash it in the sink in the loo and dry it under the hand dryer!

It continued to live after that!
