Is anyone moving at the moment?

Maybe I'm being fanatical, but I'm worrying so much about this move. We are moving next Friday and the children will start their new school 3rd November. Is anybody out there going through the same thing? Any advice on how I can quieten my mind and think positive about my DS year 2 and DS year 4 starting a new school. They are happy confident children, I just dont want this to change. Thank you xxx

My cousin moved to the Isle of Wight from Devon 2 years ago.

Her children were also 2 and 4 at the time and it involved moving her oldest to a new school and away from friends and family.

Both were fine and were excited about the move. They are now 4 and 6 and very happy living where they are and have settled into new schools and made new friends.

Kids adapt a lot better then you think x

I moved to England from Ireland at the end of June & my two children, ages 11 & 13, started their new schools in September. They have both settled in very well, despite concerns from well meaning family & friends. If you keep a positive attitude your kids will pick up on that. Don't listen to any negative comments from anybody. What's right for one person is not necessarily for another person. Kids are very adaptable.

Thank you, I guess I'm just having a bit of a wobble. I know this is the best thing for us, we all need a new start as there are many unhappy memories for myself where we are now, but for my children they have loved it here with friends and always liked their school. It is just entering into the unknown, and as always, with children it changes everything, out whole perspective on life. But thank you for your positive and uplifting replies. x
