At the fair this weekend they had a huge bungee jump ride that basically catapults a little cage into the air (very, very, very high) ... a proper white knuckle, white face ride!

Anyway on saturday one of the ropes snapped thankfully the safety features kicked in and the people were brought down to the ground without injury but if both ropes had snapped, they would have been killed, as would people on the ground.

Anyway I was reading about this on the local newspaper website and there was a comment from someone saying:

"Something similar happened to me. My rope snapped on the hook a duck, it was awful".

blatently written as a joke but them some poor teen took it seriously and replied:

"Your rope snapped on the huck a duck??? OMG that is nothing like this!!!"

I just found that really funny.

The hook a duck thing is very funny - am sniggering away.

The irony is funny LOL.

I went on that ride however would have shit myself if I was on it.

A Bungee Rocket??? We went on on in NZ and it is bloody scary! I like the duck comment though.

we'd been to the fair earlier on in the night and watched people doing it, i went on one a few years ago. Apparantly theres an almost impossible chance that both would have snapped as once one has gone the tension on the other would not be enough to snap it or something. dd1 came home from school and told me that the girls had died according to her class mate whereas actually they got off shaken but laughing.

Sounds like somthing my brother would say. bless him.

I went on one with my husband, before we were married. There was a camera inside the cage and we bought the video.
My husbands nan wanted to watch it, we had to turn the sound off though for obvious reasons.
She thinks I'm a real lady. I wouldn't want to disapoint her.

Another comment on the story that made me LOL:
