why do they do it?

I clicked on this convinced it must be another thread started by Plumandolive!

Anyway, I agree. But mostly because I stopped being able to fit into anything they would ever make about, erm, 10 years ago.

forevercleaning · 13/10/2008 15:52

never bought anything in there. Doubt I ever will either. ver ver common

minorbirdOnElmstreet · 13/10/2008 15:59

Well, I wear Jane Norman clothes and look nowt like Liz Mcdonald. So yes YABU.

paddingtonbear1 · 13/10/2008 16:03

I used to like them, when I was thinner
They do some pretty good basic black trousers. In shorter length too!

Lauriefairycake · 13/10/2008 16:07

I know neither Jane or Liz

are they mumsnetters?

who wear the same clothes?

is Liz stalking Jane?

plumandolive · 13/10/2008 16:44

sycamore- how vvery! I do post on other erudite subjects you know.
but maggot I tend to agree with you

plumandolive · 13/10/2008 16:45

It's the shiny leopardy bits....and biggish 80's hair

MrsMattie · 13/10/2008 16:46

Isn't it for very young women / girls?

I can't imagie anyone over 25 shopping there and looking good.

anyfucker · 13/10/2008 16:47

oh yes, I have posted my irrational (rational ?) hate for all things Jane N before

(not so) cheap tat IMHO

often seem to be in eye-watering colour combos such as yellow and black (I dont want to look like a rotten banana) and acid-bright pink/black

DrNortherner · 13/10/2008 16:48

Well I have the odd top from there and a coat actually, I look nothing like Liz.

DrNortherner · 13/10/2008 16:48

Would never dress in JN head to toe mind you, but much preferable to Monsoon and Per Una.....

VinegARGHHHTits · 13/10/2008 16:50

I am all for cheap clothes, not tacky though but how nice it must be to be able to afford expensive non tacky clothes and be perfect enough to judge those with no money or taste yabu.

PuzzleRocks · 13/10/2008 16:52

Oh dear. I got married in a Jane Norman dress. Black cocktail, very tasteful.
Oh, I also got married in Vegas so I suppose I am irredeemably vulgar.

anyfucker · 13/10/2008 16:55

lol, didn't mean to cause offence

I shop in New Look btw

there is just summat about Jane N I cant stand

probably the fact that I am far too old to shop there

rolledhedgehog · 13/10/2008 16:56

They are for young girls/women with nice figures not old cows like me...I would say anyone of Liz McDonald's vintage should walk past the shop and keep walking! Have heard Jane Norman is doing incredibly well and they don't advertise either so someone loves the clothes.

Libra1975 · 13/10/2008 16:58

I would like to be slim enough to be able to fit into Jane Norman clothes...

PuzzleRocks · 13/10/2008 16:59

No offence taken here . A lot of their stuff is nasty.

Sycamoretree · 13/10/2008 16:59

Yes Puzzle, I'm afraid there is officially no hope for you.

But you are probably very thin and gorgeous with the body of a Hollyoaks star, but the class of Nicole Kidman. I'm sure you rocked it.

And Plum I knew this one would draw you out!
