Why does DH prefer to do the everyday jobs indoors and expect me to do the out door jobs!!

I have basically spent all day outside, getting the garden ready for winter. I pressure washed the drive (took me 3 and a half hrs) mowed the front, side and back lawn.

DH on the other hand, cooked a lovely Sunday lunch, cleared the airing cupboard, did the school/work clothes ironing and changed all 4 beds.

Now I am not moaning at what he has done, because I know he has been just as busy as me. But, why could he not say to me, I will spend all day outside while you do indoors!

Please don't jump on me just yet, but we have been in this house now for almost 3 yrs, so far he has not done anything outside, so if I didn't do it then it just wouldn't get done!

Maybe I should have asked if anyone else's DH prefers this too?

YANBU.

This is how it works in my house:

Things that can be done inside in the warm = women's work. Things that are outside and involve the lifting of heavy machinery, the opening of the garage, encountering spiders or handling mud = men's work.

And who says feminism is dead?

We always share the chores inside and out, except emptying the bins is dps job. Wish someone would tidy the airing cupboard though!
