Blimey, you really have got the language grump today, haven't you.

Personally I'd just avoid all places with a Kids' menu or that sell filthy things like 'nuggets'. You'll probably feel a lot better.

Blu · 07/10/2008 12:12

Maybe because they have no chicken in them?

They are just that - little hard lumps -'nuggets'.

I believe accuracy to be important.

One of our beloved guinea pigs is called nuggets so it sends a chill up my spine when i see just 'nuggets' on the menu.

And no the other guinea pig isn't called chips!

onager · 07/10/2008 12:15

It's environmentally friendly since it wastes less ink For every 1000000 times they do that they save one FeltTipPen tree

ledodgy · 07/10/2008 12:15

Because 'chicken' could be false advertising?

pagwatch · 07/10/2008 12:18

It probably seriously is because they are not actually chicken.
That is why in fast food places milkshakes are called 'shakes'. Not milkshakes - just fatshakes
And fatshakes wouldn't be such a big seller.

Actually they probably would now...

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/10/2008 12:24

can I add that 'burger' annoys me similarly - ' I'm having burger and chips' ! though 'beef burger' sounds very old fashioned for some reason

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/10/2008 12:25

I also hate 'juice' and while I'm at it, I loathe 'do you want a coffee ?' it's a cup of coffee fgs

AbbaFan · 07/10/2008 12:26

There still rank whether you call them chicken nuggets or nuggets.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/10/2008 12:32
