i did somethign really bad at swimming pool recently

picture this, lessons, usual shannanigans. only a limited number of changing cubicles.
ages ago some parents hogged the cubicles while their children were swimming, by leaving their clothes in their!
i spose one started but people soon followed.
i complained. it stopped.
yesterday - someone had done it again - i know - the clothes were in their for all the time that my dc was getting dressed.

anyway - i felt so annoyed about this - i moved the shoes into the adjoining cubicle

not unreasonable. It's a bit like people putting beach towels out on sunbeds then going off for the day. Chuck em in the pool is what I do.

I'm sorry but I understand your annoyance but I think that is awful! they would have been really worried, probably looked for ages, then gave up and had to go home without shoes. I think it is really mean.

I'm slightly confused. Aren't clothes suposed to be in a cubicle? where are you supposed to put them if not in a cubicle.

And whats the point of moving a pair of shoes from a cubicle into another cubicle.

I rather suspect that I'm missing the point hre

they shoudl put them in the locker while they are having swimming lessons, or take them poolside, not effectively hog the cubicle

I abituate a lockers and one big open changing room environment, the etiquette of cubicle use if new to me...

Psst, Kewcumber, you get changed in a cubicle and then put your stuff in a locker.

but you do use the lockers while in the pool kew?

i moved the shoes to shake them up a bit

so they don;t put their kids stuff in a locker but use a cubicle instead? They're more trusting that I am, wouldn't leave clothes not locked away in a locker me!

How old are the kids that a cubicle to change in in so very essential that they'd risk having their clothes nicked Or is it mixed changing and older children?

Virtually all swimming pools provide lockers. It ain't rocket science to suggest that people use them.

I think it serves them right. If there are locks provided then they should use them.

At our local swimming pool staff go round changing rooms and take clothes to reception. There are signs up saying this will happen and people never leave clothes in cubicles. I think this is better than viligantly action. At least people know where to go to find their clothes.

Prehaps you should suggest your sports centre do something similar.

its a sort of 2 person cubicle. parent helping dc for example.
only one seat. and on that seat, someone else's possessions.

good for you- some people are so selfish!
i was 38 weeks pregnant with dc2 and had taken dd to her weekly swimming lesson(dd was 3.6 years old and unable to stand unaided)and popped to the changing area a couple of mins before the end of her lesson and put her clothes and her walking frame in a disabled changing cubicle-went back to 'walk' dd by holding her hands and gently moving her legs with my feet to find that by the time dd and i had walked back to the cubicle some kind and able bodied person had put all dd's stuff outside the cubicle on the floor.I had to sit a shivering dd on the floor and move all the stuff around the corner and then pick up dd(something which i had been advised not to do-due to a scare at 31 weeks and being classed as high risk pregnancy) any way picked up dd took her around to the family changing area(lucky no on else in) and pop my waters went...had dc2 less than 12 hours later

that reminds me of 'accidently' not noticing DS taking all the towels of the sunbeds on holiday

YANBU. Cubicles are for changing, lockers are to put your clothes in while you swim. Simple.

Obviously these are the sort of people who are so important that they obviously must have the cubicle as soon as they come out of the pool, couldn't possibly use a locker and then find another cubicle... sod everyone else!

I'd be tempted to rub their clothes in that slimey water that always collects on the floor !
