To want to tell a local shop they are shit at running a business?

It's a brill shop, but the way they price things is beyond ridiculous.

Whatever you take to the counter they weigh, all at once, and charge £2 per kilo.

This makes sense for some things, but not at all for others.

I recently got a feck load of tiger prawns at that price, and same goes for all their fresh herbs. It's just silly.

As much as it's good for customers I don't see how they are not losing money!? Should I say something.

Maybe phrase it differently...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 03/10/2008 01:13

ha ha

Of course I will.

I just think they are ripping themselves off, which is silly?

Why don't you just engage them in conversation, sort of why did you decide to charge the same for everything type of thing.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 03/10/2008 01:36

Good idea.

But it may be a bit like kicing a gift horse in the mouth.

I can get such cheap herbs, fresh chillies etc from them. But then I guess it balances out when they over charge for onions/ potatoes.

Kicking a gift horse in the mouth?

Kicking?

I'm going to sound officious here...but Ithnk your Trading Standrds people woul dbe very upset to hear of teh blanket £2 per kilo!!

FourArms · 03/10/2008 07:39

Why Finbar? Surely they're entitled to charge whatever they like, so long as they're not deviating from advertised prices?
