took dd round to new friend, dd is 4.3 her dd is 3.11.the mother is very highly strung and follows her dd around everywhere.

two comments are bothering me and im pissed off i didnt say anything at the time .

First, my dd was telling her dd what to do with a toy. the mother asked me to tell my dd to stop as the toy was her dds.

second, in garden, her dd kept running over to her, she said, "oh darling, whats the matter is little hifi hitting you?"
i know i should get over it, its petty but its really bothering me, was she out of order or not?

She certainly was.

LuLuMacGloo · 30/09/2008 19:26

She sounds like a bit of a loon. Let it go and feel superior.

LoveMyGirls · 30/09/2008 19:27

don't go round there again

MadOldAggie · 30/09/2008 19:27

Just don't visit again ,she sound a bit high maintance to me .

FWIW I do the same as you bite my tongue then sit at home in the evening thinking of all the good comments I could have said .

You know, I really don't understand all these sensitivities around telling off someone else's child. If she had something to say I think she should have said it to your DD directly, no harsher than to her own, obviously. The second comment was out of order, the assumption that that's what was happening (unless it was true).

AVOID HER!

hifi · 30/09/2008 19:28

oh, thought it was just me, thanks.

Well, the first one I don't see anything wrong with, she was asking to to tell your dd not to be bossy, that's not actually unreasonable of her.

second one she was out of order - unless your dd WAS hitting her, of course

hifi · 30/09/2008 19:34

cant be sure about bossy but i have never seen her hit anyone, except her dad.
