they have been banging incessantly on our adjoining wall from 8am until 5pm every day for the past 3 weeks !! I'm not just talking about the odd bang here and there, it is a constant bang bang bang on the wall. At one point today there were two of them at it going bang BANG bang BANG etc inbetween each other !!!!! It is driving me round the bend.
Even DD (2.2) shouted "stop banging please bob" this morning !!!
They are stopping her from getting her naps, they are stopping DD2 (5wk) from settling, and my patience is well and truly frazzled. AAAARGH .

DH thinks I'm exaggerating, but they've stopped by the time he gets in andf they don't work wkends.

Sorry, rant over ! Off to go find some chocolate now !!

Can you tape the builders so hubby can see what you have to put up with? Can you go to your parents in the day for some peace?

Have a bar of choccie.

Oh I can so sympathise with you! My neighbour has just had work finished on her house and it was four weeks of banging, drilling, shouting, walking over my garden - the list goes on. It drove me and my dd crazy and the drilling terrified her as it was so loud! Thankfully, they have now gone and it's lovely. I hope it stops soon for you!

3 weeks of that would drive anyone insane. Is there anywhere you can go for naptimes?

Weegle · 30/09/2008 16:37

Nightmare for you but at least they are keeping reasonable hours. Can you ask the neighbours how long it will be going on for? They may be willing to ask the builders to try and do quieter work during your DD's nap time. And until it passes you're just going to have to go out as much as poss. Take both DD's for a drive to get them to sleep, take a magazine and park up and get half an hour of peace that way?

Unfortunately nowhere particularly local. Parents are 50 mins away, so by the time I get there and back .... I couldn't face any length of time there getting nagged !
They seem to have clocked off early today - banging and drilling stopped 10 mins ago. Must remember to get more paracetamol from shops tomorrow !!

I do sympathise,its bloody annoying.
We live in a mid terrace and the bloke that owns next door converted it to flats-without planning permission mind-they were the same.Drove me potty.
They started one morning at 7.30 am ,i had had an awful night with DS who was 6 months old and ill, finally dropped off to sleep about 6 am then they started.I was irate.
So irate in fact that i went round in my nightie and played merry hell with them Can still see the look of shock on the chaps face poor sod!
