to think dress should slightly fit me!

Was measured for my wedding dress about 4 months ago. I was told that they take hips, waist and bust measurements and then dress is ordered to nearest size and then altered to fit accordingly. By this I assumed the dress would fit but perhaps slightly big in some area which would then be taken in.
Yesterday I tried the dress on and it is huge all over. About 4 inches too big all over!. I'm pissed off as alterations cost extra and also its a £1500 dress supposedly handmade. I feel like it was a waste of time taking my measurements in the first place as its no where near my size. I feel like they have ordered it too big just in case I put on weight or to make loads of money on the alteration of the dress. I have not lost weight and my weight does not fluctuate so there was no need to order it any bigger. Also hope that design wont be ruined by having do much taken in.
Adjustments in the shop I'm buying from are uncapped and I have paid in full for the dress in order to get a 10% discount. Severly pissed off. So much so that I feel like taking the dress to somewhereelse to get altered. Am I right to feel pissed off or is this the norm. Young girl in shop kept saying have you lost weight? to which I answered no. Said to her that my waist was 25" at time of measuring so asked her to get the tape measure and measure waist again. Funnily enough she didn't bother getting tape measure.

Ooh v of your tiny waist. Sigh.
Is this an independent shop or a chain?

An independent. By the way its not a toned 25"!

Make them check the measurements they took against you now, and the dress. Then make them get a new dress from the manufacturers (they can get them as a rush order) which actually corresponds with the correct measurements.
