Way to go to get the moral high ground there bodybag she is just a twat, you are now an ignorant twat.

combustiblelemon · 29/09/2008 16:04

It's terribly rude to start a thread about someone in this way. If you want to say it's a waste of money, tell her on that thread, don't start another one just to bitch. Even if she is a hedgehog killer.

Oh and regards spending cash - my folks were on a cruise yonks ago and met a really nice couple with their 3 kids.

They got friendly (mum and dad always did) and the woman told mum that she was really looked down on be some on the ship because they 'weren't post or har the right accent'. People were actually making snippy comments loudly.

It turned out that the woman (who was in her 30s) had terminal cancer so they had cashed in everything they had to go on a last family holiday.

So you never know how/why people spend how they do.

wannaBe · 29/09/2008 16:05

are you the sil per chance?

pagwatch · 29/09/2008 16:06

oh bodybag
That was so silly
She looked really dim and bitchy starting a thread about that. But now you just look worse.

My kids loved the rocking horse that DH bought for DS1 when I was about 12 weeks pregnant . He is now 15 and all the children have used it and it will get put away in case it is wanted again in the future.

Tis none of your business and you just sound really chippy.

Peachy · 29/09/2008 16:09

'I had a travel system free, hand me down. '

Lucky you. I didn't have anyone to give me a freebie. Que sera sera.

I dn't think £100 on a rocking horse is bad at all. Dh's mate makes them for more like £900- solid, beautiful things they are; the sort that'll still be doing fine for your great gradkids. I doubt it will ever be a possibility but I'd love one. AS would the ds's (and they take adult weight, which with a 5 year old ds3 who like toddler toys may be a great ting).

charchargabor · 29/09/2008 16:09

Wow, mellow out you two. Talk about a total overreaction. bodybag you've lost the moral highground now, I agree. iamjigsaw, you know this is out of order. As regards expensive rocking horses, I couldn't really care less about them.

Saturn74 · 29/09/2008 16:10

£100 seems reasonable when you cost it out per ride.
They cost fuck all to feed, after all.
Most are house-trained; I have ascertained this from the fact that their shit is extremely rare.

FabioAsGoodAsItGets · 29/09/2008 16:12

lol HC

I want a rocking fox and a rocking pack of hounds.
Bt I understand they are now illegal

combustiblelemon · 29/09/2008 16:12

BTW, the rocking horse I had as a child is now in the playroom for my children to enjoy. It has even endured tipsy adult friends riding on it- including BIL who kept going 'Hi-Hoh Silver!'

Flamesparrow · 29/09/2008 16:15

Oh I thought this was going to be a comedy comeback thread

bodybag · 29/09/2008 16:16

couldn't give a toss about the moral highground.

she's lucky i don't say anything worse.
now stop winding me up jigsaw.

Dropdeadfred · 29/09/2008 16:16

[demands eyes back and wanders off blowing the fluff off them]

chutneymary · 29/09/2008 16:28

Bodybag, don't get upset. Spend your cash on whatever you like. None of anyone else's business.

There is a rocking horse on GLTC website though for £1295 but claims to hold up to 90kg.

TOTALLY DISAGREE
My mum bought ds one.
Like this - a harley davidson type one - www.hibba.co.uk/html/rocking_bikes_8.html.
The wood was not quite as dark.
I think it was reduced to just under £100.
God the hours and hours of fun.
So was it value for money ? Yes. We ahve kept it and I am sure ds2 will use it aswell.

Just becasue you buy something expensive, doesn't make it not value for money.
You could buy heaps of toys for £19.99 or £29.99 for christmas and them get little usage. + Real waste of money.

SheikYerbouti · 29/09/2008 16:39
