TheInvisibleManDidIt · 28/09/2008 19:21

tell us whats wrong.....

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 19:22

If you ask someone to help you sort out your mess of a house would you not think to at least thank them for taking the time and trouble to help you or would you simply say 'if you're up to it i could do with going through the loft next time'

Maybe it's just me, but two simple words go a long way She is a friend but even so i am annoyed. This isn't the first time i've put myself out either.
Am possibly just feeling annoyed at myself for feeling annoyed, but even so grrrr

OP posts:
S1ur · 28/09/2008 19:22

I want to thank you all.

S1ur · 28/09/2008 19:23

Oh not me

Yes bad friend. tut tut. is annoying not to be appreciated.

forevercleaning · 28/09/2008 19:25

YANBU - ungrateful woman. Still, it will be a no next she she asks won't it.

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 19:26

I have no problem helping anyone but yes this has annoyed me! I don't help to receive but a simple thank you in my opinion goes a very long way.

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 19:28

Oh FAQ this is in no way related to anyone on here, its just really rattled my cage today

OP posts:
UnfortunatelyMe · 28/09/2008 19:30

maybe she will text later? Or bring you a bar of choccy tommorow?

FAQ · 28/09/2008 19:31

I know it's not (you haven't been round and helped me sort my house out today ) - but I honestly can't remember if I thanked them properly (in my defense I wasn't in a good way, very bad depression).

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 28/09/2008 19:35

YANBU. would annoy me big time too

Maybe, as UnfortunatelyMe says, she's planning on getting you a wee thankyou gift, or phoning later.

Could the 'loft next time' been meant jokingly?

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 19:38

No the loft was NOT meant as a joke, and if she does call to say thanks then i will happily eat my words. It sounds terrible, but i almost resent helping her at the moment

OP posts:
TheInvisibleManDidIt · 28/09/2008 19:46

I think you have every right to be resentful.

You've given up your time and energy tohelp her and she can't even manage to say 2 words.

tbh, even if she is planning a gift/ phonecall don't see why she couldn't say 'thank' and still go ahead with a gesture later.

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 20:02

I'm starting to wonder if her body will implode if she says those words

OP posts:
Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 21:35

she called

OP posts:
FAQ · 28/09/2008 21:36

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 21:37

OP posts:

is she a mnetter?

Disheartenedwaaaaa · 28/09/2008 21:45

Oh god we have discussed Mumsnet before
That hadn't even crossed my mind

OP posts:
geraldinetheluckygoat · 28/09/2008 21:49

Oh god, quick post lovely things about her!

lisad123 · 28/09/2008 21:51

I think you have a right to be upset. I hate people like that, so rude. But I always bring wine and flowers to meals, and send thank you cards for the things my friends do
Maybe she'll be in touch later.

Kewclotter · 28/09/2008 21:52

disheartened - if you came and helped me sort my house out I would grovel around your ankles and worship at the altar of your saintliness. Ditch your friend be my friend, PLLEEEEEEEEEEASE.
