He is 4 now, not inclined to stick his fingers in sockets but wakes early. He will watch the telly and play with his train happily for half an hour or so before he wants breakfast (that;s when he comes back upstairs and jumps on my head) - but it is Bad Parenting to let him do this?

If it's unreasonable then I'm Mrs Unreasonable, of Unreasonable Road, Unreasonableville.

God I need a coffee.

God, no!

DD1 is 4.9 and has being doing this for ages now

She also makes breakfast for herself

I can hear her from my room, though. We are in a small flat

YANBU But, only if he can make you breakfast and bring it up!

LucyJones · 28/09/2008 13:35

my 4 year ld has just started doing this too, he wakes up at 6 am so it's a godsend , his little sister wakes anytime btw 6.30am - 7.15am so it gives me that little bit extra time to come to in the mornings
Then when she wakes up I take her downstairs and give them their breakfast at the same time
