I love to sing, but I am not good at it, I know this.

sooooo

I song in the car only. loudly if alone, but I still sing if with the kiddies and DH.

DH says I should stop, as I murder songs.

I don;t see why........it makes me feel good....there is nothing like singing along to something for boosting your spirits at times.

I know I am bad, but I am not inflicting it on anyone bar my family, so why should I stop?????

please vote. I will adhere to whatever MN decides, and either sing only when alone, or continue as I am (singing in the car with whoever is with me).

Tell them all to shut up so you can sing!
I do it too. With or without passengers.

Cies · 27/09/2008 20:07

SING! I do too, and I know I´m bad (although DH swears I have a voice like and angel )

thefunkypea · 27/09/2008 20:07

Go for it - sing whenever you can. I'm so bad that even my dd often asks me to stop (!)so sometimes the car is the only place I can get away with it

MrsWeasley · 27/09/2008 20:11

Sorry but your DH is so WRONG! If he doesnt like it pull the car over he can walk Make sure its raining when you suggest this

Everytime he says you are murdering the songs sing louder he will catch on eventually!

Sing, Sing, Sing and then Sing some more.

differentID · 27/09/2008 20:12

sing. if he doesn't want to listen, tell him to walk.

noonki · 27/09/2008 20:14

SING SING SING
I really cannot sing either (I have inherited this astounding tone deafness from my dad, who was one of only 3 out of 400 kids at his school who weren't in the choir coz their singing was so bad ). My DH and all former DP's hate my singing. But my DS1 (2.3, so this may not last ) WILL NOT go to sleep without his mother singing Away In A Manger and assorted other Xmas carols. If my DH (who has a lovely voice) tries to sing he says No, Mama sing!
The day will soon come when your kids find you so monumentally embarassing that even breathing in their presence, let alone singing, is shameful, so enjoy it while it lasts. At least you already have a trick up your sleeve to wind them up with.

psychomum5 · 27/09/2008 20:27

oh singing is the ultimate feel-good...

I also used to sing to my kiddies when they were tiny/ill (in fact, even now, if they are ill, I sing nursery rhymes to them).

but being told it is ok.....well......

I am bouncing with joy!

coxiegirl · 27/09/2008 20:39

Do it, sing sing sing up! Fab for you and the kiddies, great uplifting stuff, good for you! I'm with Mrs Weasley, make him walk!

MaureenMLove · 27/09/2008 20:44

But, but, but - its the rules! You have to sing in the car. We have CD's especially bought for car journeys! We even have songs where we instictively know who's singing what bit! There's nothing like a bit of Country and Western for a good old sing-a-long in our car!

psychomum5 · 27/09/2008 20:46

so far 100% in my favour

cool.....

and the walking idea is fab

yanbu
I sing very loudly and badly along to AX7 and I don't care if dh or ds don't like it (dd loves it if I do it to leader of the pack as I know the words)
It is fun. my rules as tis my van and I am driving.

psychomum5 · 27/09/2008 21:41

2shoes......tis my rule if I am not driving

EightiesChick · 27/09/2008 22:38

Sing! Shows your kids you don't have to be good at things to enjoy them and that's OK. Not all of us aspire to be X factor winners!

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 27/09/2008 22:40

i sing! loudly with headphones in that way i cannot hear every ones wails of pian when their eardrums burst.

MrsWeasley · 28/09/2008 15:25

I ran this by DH last night and even he thinks that your DH is wrong
He said everyone should be encouraged to sing regardless of their ability then I went to bed.

I nipped down for a drink and found him watching Xfactor I never knew he liked it

falcon · 28/09/2008 15:30

I'm with your dh on this one, but even if you had the best voice in the world I'd still say the same.

I hate listening to people sing, I want to throttle them when I hear them singing along with the radio/adverts/songs on tv.Unless I've paid to listen to you I don't want to hear it.

Perhaps you could sing only during the outgoing journey?

psychomum5 · 29/09/2008 19:24

lo @ mrsweasly's DH having a secret passion for x factor.

falcon....tis ok, I do not afflict myself on anyone outside of my car, so you are safe!
